What does the role of the Understanding Professions Workshop Presenter entail?
The goal of the Workshop Presenter will be to deliver one or more “Understanding Professions” sessions. These sessions are aimed at demystifying different scientific roles, and are presented to an audience of high school students, years 7-9. From Food Technologists, to Exploration Geologists, to Pharmacists, these sessions each have a different and unique focus, and aim to explore the underlying science behind each profession. These sessions will be pre-prepared by LEAP, and all materials will be provided to you on the day. All you need to do is simply turn up a bit earlier on the day to be briefed on the session.

Note: All presenters must be undertaking studies at a tertiary level.

Where & When Will the Sessions Be Held?
Sessions will be held at various high schools & educational institutes around Victoria, both metro and regional, throughout the year. See below for the current listing of sessions. Each YSA volunteer will receive a $50 WISH Gift Card for every event they assist with. LEAP has also generously agreed to cover the costs of travel of workshop presenters, up to a cost of $50, and provide all presenters with lunch on the day, to acknowledge the efforts and contributions of the workshop presenters.

You are able to sign up to be a presenter for as many or as little sessions as you’d like. There is no minimum required participation. Just see below for session times, and send an email to Ricardo Cannizzaro at president@melbourne.ysa.org.au at a minimum of two weeks ahead of time, expressing your interest in the days you’d like to get involved with!

There are currently no opportunities being advertised. Please check again in the near future.
